Formula of prayers...

How should we pray? Is there a formula in prayers that will surely make God answer it? I've heard a lot of different versions of prayers. I still wonder what works for God?

Anyways, whatever method or style, I just keep on praying to God and telling Him the desires of my heart. I believe that God is very intelligent, he knows what is best for us. I just keep on seeking him everyday of my life whatever circumstances I have in my life. I will not go away from Him. He is my refuge.

New Wardrobe!

I really feel good when I get to buy new clothes for myself. he he It's a nice feeling. I bought myself a new wardrobe last Saturday. I am wearing it now. I really like it. My new shoes are also beautiful. I've been wanting to buy something like this before but I was hesitant because I am trying to save. But I really need it for my work. So I bought it. No regrets. A beautiful pair of shoes will surely complete your outfit.

Even if you have a beautiful dress but your shoes are not good, your total impact will not be beautiful. Your shoes will give you a final approval. It should be nice and clean. You should also be comfortable wearing it.

When I look at guys. I always look at their shoes if it's clean. The shoes speaks a lot about the guy. If he doesn't have clean shoes, then it just proves that he has no proper grooming. A big turn off for me. =)

Preparations for the Chinese New Year!

I've been an avid follower of the rituals of the Chinese New Year even if I'm not Chinese. I do it to add and receive positive energy for the New Year. I am hoping that it would bring me good luck for. So I am thinking to do the following on or before the Chinese New year which would fall on February 14, Valentines day!

1. Have a pedicure.

2. Clean my room.

3. Wear something red.

4. Attend Mass.

5. Write a wish list.

Count down to Valentines!

Valentines day is fast approaching. It would fall on Sunday. I don't have a significant other but still I'm excited to celebrate it with my family. My aunt said that we will have a get together in their house to celebrate it. I'm excited because my aunt is a good cook. I'm looking forward to our Valentine celebration.

Post Valentine date would be with my cousin. We plan to go to a beautiful hotel and have coffee there while listening to love songs. She invited me to try it out. I'm pretty excited since the place is so beautiful. And I love to try out new things. It's a good form of relaxation also.

I hope that the next Valentines day would be a different story for me. I hope I would be with someone I love. Just a wishful thinking. Happy Love Month!!

3 easy 5-minute dips

If you're having people over for the big game, or even if you're watching with immediate family, or heck, if you're watching the game by yourself, you know that you want dips and chips and other finger food at your side.

Blue Cheese Dip: Not much to this crucial Buffalo wing condiment.

1/4 pound blue cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon white vinegar
Salt to taste

Put the blue cheese in a bowl and mash with a fork until a paste forms. Whisk in the remaining ingredients until you have a smooth sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Hummus: If you need a break from the guac (an unlikely scenario, but still) this is basically just a can of chickpeas with a few other odds and ends.

1 (16-ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
Juice of 1 lemon
2 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed
1/2 to 3/4 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (optional)

Add chickpeas into the bowl of a food processor, along with lemon juice, garlic, and 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning if you want an extra kick. Begin to purée the mixture, slowly adding the olive oil through the feed tube of the food processor until an emulsion, or creamy consistency, forms. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Spicy, Melty Cheese Dip: We're into recipes with minimal labor and huge pay-off. This couldn't epitomize that lazyman philosophy more—in fact, it's not even a recipe technically.

1 cup Cheddar (from the block or Velveeta)
1 tablespoon salsa
2 or 3 tablespoons milk

Just microwave a the cheese with the salsa for 30 seconds, then stir in the milk. Done!

New Life!

My friend just gave birth to a healthy baby girl yesterday. She gave birth earlier than she expected. It is her first child. She gave birth via normal delivery. Wow!

Time really flies so fast. We were only chatting a few days before she gave birth. We were talking about her plans. Her new role in life. She herself can't believe her fate. Her pregnancy happened so fast. I think that it was really meant to be.

We visited her yesterday. Her baby is adorable. So cute and tiny. So fragile. I'm happy for my friend. I wish her the best. Congrats to her newborn baby.

Life is full of surprises!

Many things happened today. I thought today is just like yesterday. A routine. But everyday is really a brand new day - full of surprises! I was really surprise a kid at work gave me flowers. They we're celebrating teachers day. But I'm not part of it since I'm not a teacher. So, I was really surprise when the kid went to my office and gave me flowers. He was a sweet boy. I was really touched. I really love receiving flowers. It makes me feel that I am special. I also received a chocolate from my co-worker. Wow!

Another surprise today is my brand new watch I've received when I got home. I was really surprised about it. It was a giveaway from my credit card bank. Wow! It is really something I did not expect. Maybe I am a good payer that is why they gave me a gift. he he Still, I'm so thankful! It is a beautiful watch. I really like it.

I am so happy. Today is a great day! Hoping tomorrow would also be great! God Bless everyone! =)

Celebrate 'Love Month' in style

Pavlova with Seasonal Berries

Ingredients

3 pcs egg whites
½ cups granulated Sugar
1 tsp white Wine Vinegar
1 tsp cornstarch
¼ cup Caster Sugar
1 ¼ cups whipping cream
½ cup kiwi
½ cup strawberries
½ cup blueberries

Procedure:

1. Whip egg whites until soft peaks. Gradually add the 125g caster sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

2. Mix the white wine vinegar with cornstarch and 50g caster sugar. Fold into the egg white mixture.

3. Shape into a nest of about 5cm in a sheet tray lined with Glad Cook n’ Bake paper.

4. Bake at 150oC/300oF for 1 hour. Turn the oven off and leave the meringue to dry out and cool.

5. Whip cream until stiff peak form.

6. Fill shell with whipped cram no earlier than 1 hour before service. Garnish with fresh fruits.

Yield: 4 to 5 pieces.

Realizations on Love...

Since it is the love month, I'll be talking about Love. I've met up with my girl friends last night. It's been awhile since we've seen each other. I miss them. Even though it was only a few months since we've seen each other, a lot of things happened to our individual lives especially in our love life. Here are some realizations:

1. Love is a two way process. If you have given your all and the other party is still not doing his part. Then it is time to let go.

2. Love comes in the most unexpected places.

3. Don't expect too much to the promises of the one you love. They fail most of the time. You will be left frustrated.

4. Love yourself.

5. If there's a will there's a way.

6. The truth will set you free.

7. Love conquers all.

8. If you love someone set him free, if he comes back he's yours. If he will not, then you are not meant for each other right from the start.

9. Love is blind.

10. Don't makes excuses for the person you love. If you feel that something is wrong, don't deny it. Instead face it.

11. Cherish the moment with the one you love.

12. It is better to love and lost than never to love at all.

13. Love is patient. Love is kind.

14. Don't give up on love.

Love Month!

It's February once again. It's the L-O-V-E month. Valentines day is fast approaching. Love will surely be on the air.

I don't have any plans yet for that day. I think I will just spend it with my family. I don't have someone special to spend it with anyway. But it's okay. I am more than happy now. There are times that I feel lonely and sad but I can get over it. I feel like I'm free now coming from a cage that I put myself in. It's good to be free. It is so refreshing. No words can express my feelings. No regrets!

Still, I'm into Love. Love is the greatest thing of all. We should share our love not only to our significant other but also to our family and friends whose love for us is more constant. Happy Love month everyone! Cheers! Love love love... =)
